What is United Methodist Women?

A group of women in each United Methodist congregation organized for mission.

Our Purpose

The organized unit of United Methodist Women shall be a community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.

Who are members?
We are from diverse ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds; employed and unemployed; women with disabilities; housewives and business women; single, married, widowed, and divorced; young, middle-aged, and older women; all committed to mission.

What does it mean to be a member?

A member is one who commits herself to our purpose and chooses to participate in meetings, prayer, giving, study, action, and/or service; serving the needs of women, children, and youth.

Our Unit Needs YOU!

Baylake UMW ‘s programs and activities are structured to encourage spiritual growth.

Quarterly General Meetings, Circle Groups and Mission Outreach activities focus on the needs of women, children and youth, locally, nationally and globally.

We meet the first Wednesday of every month at 9:30 am for a Prayer Breakfast, during the months of September through June. Compelling speakers share their insights. We pray together, and enjoy meaningful fellowship and special musical presentations.
