Adult Christian Education at BUMC!
 
 
Get connected in the church through study and fellowship. Everyone is welcome!
 

Breakfast and the Bible for women of all ages - Enjoy coffee, tea and breakfast at 8:15 am, each Wednesday through August, followed by a Bible study of the Books of Ruth and Philippians, from 8:30 - 9:30 am.  There is a slight cost for breakfast, but please don’t let that stop you from attending!  For more information, please contact Rev. Evening Bible Study – For centuries, people have wondered if their generation would see the return of Christ. But what are the signs? What are the Scriptural references? Tuesday evenings, at 7:00 pm, from September 14 through November 23, we will be studying: What in the World is Going On? – 10 Prophetic Clues You Cannot Afford to Ignore by Dr. David Jeremiah.   Required reading is about 20 pages per week. For more information, or to register, contact Rev. Small Groups
 
Mary & Gayle’s Friends meet several times a year for 6 to 7-week sessions to study selected books of the Bible. The group of 10 to 12 ladies meets in the homes of the members on Thursday mornings from 9:30 until 11:30 am. Contact Gayle Reske (464-2041) or Mary Stroh (473-1907) for more information.
 
Seekers meet twice a month in the homes of members for dinner and study of a variety of different topics. There are eleven regular members. Contact Lew or Nan Mabie (318-7373) for more information.
 
Prayer Study: "Those Who Call Upon the Name of the Lord" meet Wed. evenings from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. in the J.O.Y. classroom... Ongoing study on prayer led by Janet Baker, using various books.

Education Station -

Each of our 10:10 am Adult Sunday school classes is in full swing with a variety of Bible-based studies. Every class is eager to welcome visitors and new members; so please feel free to visit any and all classes. Contact Linda Huff (464-2423) for more information.

 

 
Adult Sunday School
10:10 - 10-55 am
 
Challengers Class members use Bible study videos designed for Sunday school classes and small groups. They meet in the church library, room 101.
 
Friendship Class has a mature membership, averaging 45 in attendance each Sunday. There are six teachers who bring a variety of interpretations to the Adult International Education series, in a lecture presentation.   The class meets in room 117. Inquirers Class has a membership of middle-aged and senior adults who meet each week in room 118. Contact Bob Briner (464-4850) for information.
 
J.O.Y. Class (Jesus, Others, Yourself) is a group of middle and senior ladies, that meet in room 102. Four teachers provide leadership as the class studies the Christ the Fulfillment series - Matthew & Luke, augmented by lecture, discussion, and video presentations.    All are welcome to enjoy warm fellowship and lively discussion. The contact person is Jackie Pontifex (464-4204).
 
Living Bible Class is a discussion class on the books of the Bible. The class of seniors meets in room 114. Each member is encouraged to participate in the discussions led by Jim Bergdoll (474-1029) and other class members. The class is currently studying  the Gospels.
 
Discovering Disciples Class  is made up of singles and couples of varying ages. They meet in room 214 and also get together for various social events and mission projects throughout the year. The studies promote group participation, using a discussion-type format, and the curriculum varies on topics ranging from verse-by-verse Bible study to current topical studies. 
 
Men’s Bible Class is continuing the Great Studies series on the martyrs - beginning with Stephen. This senior-aged men’s group meets in room 112. John Groff (412-4214) is the contact person and primary teacher. All men are welcome! 
 
Contemporary Journey Class is an adult class/discussion group and meets in room 210. The main focus is to provide a time of fellowship and study which emphasizes putting God first in a modern-day society. The atmosphere is relaxed, and members are encouraged to interact however they are comfortable. Newcomers are always welcome, and additional fellowship opportunities are held quarterly.
