Local Missions

Beach Bags

Our concern and compassion for those in poverty and living in the margins within our community is reflected in the many outreach programs supported by Baylake UMC. We are passionate about addressing hunger, especially with children, so we actively support the “Beach Bag” (also known as “Backpack”) project in partnership with the Southeastern Foodbank of Virginia and the Virginia Beach Public School system.

Holiday Baskets

Our Holiday Food Ministry provides food for many of the families helped through the Beach Bag program and also includes families living within our community that need an extra helping hand during the holidays. It is our way of sharing of God’s love and providing hope to the families in our care.

Winter Shelter

Tentative Dates: December 27th – January 3rd
We have teams to help the marginalized through our Partnership with People In Need Winter Shelter program where we provide shelter, food and spiritual care for the homeless population in Virginia Beach.

Jail Ministry

We have passionate people helping to support the Good News Jail Ministry through our active involvement in spreading the news of God’s Love to inmates so that their spiritual needs may be met while incarcerated.
